Long Time, No See x

Hi guys!!

I am extremely sorry about not posting in awhile, a lot of crazy stuff has been happening at the moment, illness, family problems, school, exam revision and amongst all of this I've been trying to give myself a break. I have just not been able to find time to sit down and write a blog post, anyhow it feels good to be writing again!

So, somebody is bound to notice that it is about 9:00 am right now and it's a Monday! So Philippa, shouldn't you be at school right now? Ah, there's the problem, I'M ILL! As usual, I'm ill with a very bad chesty cough and a head cold. I hate being ill, it's annoying and I can't go and see my friends :-(

But anyway, I'm going shopping this weekend, so I should be able to buy some things and do a review on the products. If I have enough money, I think I'll probably buy some St Tropez Self Tan stuff because I've heard it is one of the best self tanners out there and I'm so pale, so I need some tan in my life!

If there's anything you guys want me to do a review on, then leave a comment on this post.

Thanks guys, see you this weekend x

Revlon Colourburst Lip Butters Review

I'm always over excited when I see any favourites videos from my favourite YouTube gurus, but when I saw that Ingrid (missglamorazzi) had featured a Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter in her favourites of the month, I definitely went into overdrive! I had been reading up on the line of lip butters (they had been reviewed by quite a hefty number of gurus out there so I had a lot of information to go on already!) and I couldn't make up my mind whether to indulge myself or not. However, when I saw Ingrid's video my heart was set on buying one of these bad boys.  I popped into boots to buy 1 and -typical Philippa- I came out with 3 instead.

063-Wild Watermelon 090-Sweet Tart 095-Creme Brulee

I absolutely love all three of these colours, so i'm glad I got them all at the same time! Number 063 is called 'Wild Watermelon' and is a very pretty coral red/orange colour. I think this looks great on all types of skin tone and can give a pop of colour to any look. The next colour is 090 'Sweet Tart'. This is a very typical girly colour, very pink and sweet. The only downside to this lip butter is that it can look a little too overpowering if applied fully, so I would recommend applying a small amount to your lips and then toning the colour down by blending it with your finger. The third lip butter I picked up was 095 'Creme Brulee', I love this colour because it is incredibly versatile as it is a completely nude colour and I also fell in love with the name, it's just so cute! Anyway, this colour can be worn on a day to day basis because it is a nude shade with a slight shimmer to it and as you can see from the image below, it has been well loved by yours truly. But again, I would recommend using the same method of application as mentioned before as it does have a tendency to look like the dreaded 'foundation lips' if applied too heavily.

Another great point to the lip butters is the packaging. Revlon have made a really smart move with these lip colours as they are compact and if you tend to chuck lipsticks in your bag and then forget which colour you've put in, these are definitely handy, as you can easily see which colour is which by solely looking at the packaging!

On the whole, I love these and would recommend to anyone! I believe Boots sell them for £6.99 so they are really very good quality for price.

Anyway guys, I must dash because I'm going to the Proms! I might post some pictures on here when I get to my sister's house as I am staying there for a few days.

Thanks for reading everyone and as always, stay tuned for more content soon!

Rimmel London Lipstick Review

Going into Boots and searching the makeup counters is definitely one of my favourite things to do, it can also take absolutely forever as I am the most picky person in the world. Knowing that I wanted to pick up a red lipstick and knowing that I could easily take an hour to choose which one to buy was ridiculously scary, especially with red lipsticks as you can easily go wrong and choose the wrong colour for your skin tone. This was my first time buying a red lipstick and it was incredibly daunting, but I did my research prior to buying and it made the whole process much easier. Rimmel London is my favourite drugstore brand at the moment so I instantly gravitated towards the counter and what a wonderful choice I made! This lipstick is a cool toned red as this compliments my skin tone more than a warm toned colour.

Rimmel London's 164 Tantrum

I am really very pleased that I chose Rimmel to buy from as the lipstick is very good quality, it's creamy, smooth and moisturising on the lips, which is something that doesn't happen often when I buy lipsticks. It's also a gorgeous colour, very pigmented and I particularly love the shade as it isn't too bright, but it isn't too dark either.

164 (Normal range) and 101 (Kate Moss range)

As my red lipstick was bought from the normal Rimmel London range of lip products, I wanted to compare it to the lipstick I bought from the Kate Moss range (No. 101). Yes, I know they are completely different colours but why not hey? To be entirely honest, I think I definitely like the normal range over the Kate Moss range. I found that the Kate lipstick wasn't that creamy and didn't stay on the lips for very long. I was quite disappointed with this particular product, but I am yet to try the others in the range so I will do another review when I buy some more from the Kate Moss line.

I really do recommend the Rimmel lipsticks for any first time buyers, as they aren't that expensive and very good quality.

Thanks for reading, bye!

Introductions!

Hello! First of all, it’s very nice to see you…wait, meet you... (oh, you know what I mean!). My name is Philippa or Launchers or magiclandofstuff; whatever you want to call me! This is my first blog post, as you can probably tell by the title and this blog is going to consist of beauty, fashion and little life updates in general. To tell you a little bit why I've set up a blog, here’s how I was introduced to the world of blogs…

A couple of years ago I discovered the wonderful world of YouTube on a quest to become more independent from anyone around me. At this point I was only about 12 so I had absolutely no intentions of creating my own channel or doing anything creative within YouTube whatsoever. I’d just started getting more and more intrigued by the world of makeup, fashion and all things pretty by this age and I wanted to make sure I was a bit more clued up on how everything worked before I put it into practice myself. Having no ‘real’ womanly influence in my life (I say none, I have two big sisters, one of which does not live close enough to talk to in depth about this sort of stuff and one who rarely wore makeup and didn't know much about it at the time!), I turned to the only thing that seemed to be able to give me any sort of guidance and this thing, low and behold this magical, marvellous thing was YouTube. I started watching tons of beauty videos when one day I stumbled upon the beauty guru, Tanya Burr. I watched Tanya’s channel grow and grow and then I saw that she had all these lovely friends and so I subscribed to them too. I was watching a whole group of beauty gurus that were all linked together through YouTube…I had discovered the beauty community. One day, I was reading the description of one of Tanya’s videos and she had linked this thing called a ‘blog’ where she was posting reviews and giveaways and all sorts of new and fascinating information. Then I found out that pretty much any beauty guru on YouTube had all stemmed their channels from their blogs and almost instantly I knew that I wanted to set up my own. Unfortunately, I had no idea where to start and at the time I was reading Zoe Sugg’s blog (or ‘Zoella’ as she is most commonly known) and I noticed that her blog had been set up on ‘Blogger’ and this brings us up to the last couple of days really, the first days of my very first blog! Happy days :)

So, I will be posting more content very soon and I will also be making a separate blog where all my unrelated life stuff will be posted (that will probably be called launchers).

Thanks for reading guys, follow my blog and stay tuned! x
